Roller Conveyors

Gravity and Skatewheel Roller Conveyors |
| Proper selection of gravity roller conveyors depends (very much!) on product size, weight and other characteristics. If in doubt, seek advice. Our roller conveyors have a huge selection of widths and frames available. 10’ and 5’ lengths are standard, as are 90° and 45° curves. Tight roller spacing is available to convey small products. |
Powered Roller Conveyors |
| Need to move heavy 40” x 48” pallets? Accumulate them? Transfer them? There is an easy way and a hard way. Don’t forget that the chain guard on chain driven live roller conveyors obstructs one side (but it doesn’t have to be the same side). Because of the drive and lift mechanisms, chain transfers often dictate the height of the roller conveyor bed. We have supplied special ultra low ones. |
| Consider motorized roller conveyors. The motor is in the roller allowing low frames and easy zoned accumulation. Also an excellent choice if stainless steel, wash down duty is needed. We have had excellent success with Itoh Denki powered roller systems. 1.9” or 2 ½” diameter rollers (up to 60” long, capable of 100 lbs tangential force) can move heavy pallets even with safe 24V DC power. They really simplify moving, accumulating and transferring product. |
| When some accumulation is needed, line shaft roller conveyors still have a place if the budget is tight. Frankly, few users seem to like it long term. Maintenance always seems to be an issue. A good environment (not oily) is critical. |
Flexible, Expandable Skatewheel and Roller Conveyors |
| Widely used in shipping departments or packaging operations. Accordion roller conveyors can be gravity or power operated. Standard widths for Accordion roller conveyors are 14”, 18”, 24” and 30”. Also available are expanding length belt conveying systems which are often used for trailer loading. |
